J.K. Rowling and Walt Disney have influenced me in ways hard for most to comprehend. Because of them I can trust in my imagination and not be skeptic of its abilities. J.K. Rowling created the idea of Harry Potter on a train when her thoughts wandered off and made her a great success. Walt Disney was a great campaigner of believing in your imagination when he founded the Walt Disney Company and even years after his passing, his ideas still have a great affect. When I first visited the Walt Disney World Park, a place where a culmination of his imagination is brought and set for the real world, I truly felt at home. The experience resonated with me and I know now not to dismiss imagination or creativity. This all proved that imagination doesn’t just inspire one person but people worldwide. This hidden part of the mind is quite mighty with the ability to change you and those around you in drastic ways. Now and always, I embrace the power of creativity not cast it down, for I know its strengths are impossible to properly understand. “Inanimate in an inert savoir”: French distinguishes between savoir, to know absolutely, and connaître, to understand through familiarity and suggestion. The root of savoir is to see, of connaître, to be born. Birth so intimately connected to female bodily creativity that savoir trails a sense of the masculine. What we know absolutely we know not through any ordinary human creativity. Watson, Crick, Franklin, Wilkins and the rest were obsessed with knowledge absolute. Not with what matters, but with what can be seen, observed, proven. I believe in the power of creativity and its variety of uses. Without creativity, the world would be uneventful. If nobody had the audacity to express creativity, our lives would be hopelessly simple. Baseball, Basketball or any ball game for the matter wouldn’t exist if someone hadn’t decided to pick up a ball, toss it up then catch it. Creativity continues to spawn fresh new concepts for our world today, setting the layout for progress. Personally, it has given me an outlet to really delve into the depths of my mind and take me into another realm called imagination. Discovering the structure of DNA meant only that scientists knew which chemical components of a cell were responsible for genetic replication. The “secret of life” can come only when we understand how each gene of DNA is encoded or wrongly coded. Then we can “read” our own history and individual life stories. While we know for which wrong proteins our son’s PRKRA gene encodes, we do not yet understand how those proteins provoke cellular chaos. We cannot stop it, nor can we revise his gene, although that day may come. Still, we persist. As David Foster Wallace said, even at the height of its hideousness the damaged infant somehow touches and awakens what you suspect are some of the very best parts of you: maternal parts, dark ones. You love your infant very much. And you want others to love it, too. Whenever I am asked to write an essay, it is not the regurgitation of facts onto a keyboard or the inclusion of details or finding the proper adjective to use that is the challenging part, it is coming up with a title for the essay. I have written complete essays in forty minute class periods, but it is the title that I am still trying to think of when I lay my head down at night. Personally, I think essays are very straightforward. We are taught from a young age that the introduction paragraph needs to include a hook, thesis statement, and a brief description of what you will be talking about. I will not get into the other paragraphs because after all, the process has not significantly changed since the third grade. Although our essays become more complex as we grow older, there is still the same format that has been drilled into our heads since day one. We were constantly told what each paragraph needed and that our essay needed to have a title, but we were never told how to create a title. Thinking of a title for your essay requires creativity, a quality that diminishes as we get older. Something else that helps this creative side theory is the Universe’s nebulas. Nebulas are so beautiful, unique, and spontaneous, that it is hard to keep up with what they are exactly. Humans are the same way: so beautiful, unique and spontaneous. No one knows exactly how humans are meant to be like. Scientists may think they know everything about humans, but there is so much more to learn. Each and every one of us has a different DNA, different thought process, and different life. The effects of how we live show in the way we enjoy ourselves in a creative, innovative, and unique way.

In fourth grade, there was a club called “creative arts” and since so many people wanted to join, they held a competitive application process in which you had to be selected to get in. Part of the reason why people are losing their creativity can be linked back to the preconceived idea that you have to go to college. Today, almost every teenager graduates high school and is shipped off to college. It is considered an anomaly when a teenager decides not to go to college. Every kid growing up thinks of their life as a process where you go to school for twelve years, college for four, and then work every day until you die. From a young age, kids watch their older siblings go to college and assume that is what they need to do to become successful. Who needs creativity when they are just going to go to school and then work for the rest of their life? There are plenty of successful people who have not gone or dropped out of college. Of course, there are more successful people graduating from college than not, but there are still some exceptions. Some of these exceptions include the extremely affluent Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg, both of which are college dropouts. Both Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg were incredibly smart and creative people. They were creative enough to execute their ideas to make a profit, without needing any help from college. They both dropped out of college to dedicate more time to their ideas, and felt that college was only getting in the way of their inventions. Both Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg are quintessential examples of education only getting in the way of creativity.
