Learners will choose from a few deep topics to either write a grade-level essay or turn their essay outline into a speech on the topic. During the speeches, learners will need to understand and chart the speakers’ thesis statements. And for you . . . no-hassle grading rubrics are included to make your teaching life easier and for easy, effective grading and feedback. These discussions really bring home the biggest topics of the story and guide learners through discussing the text in an analytical writing process.
The Response to Literature rubrics are also digital and have been refined over years of essay grading to include most of the comments you'd want to write on an essay. This makes the grading process much faster but still allows the teacher the ability to give some feedback. Essays can take so long to grade, can't they? But a rubric like this really speeds up the process for us. In this essay I am going to be writing about one of the main characters in John Steinbeck’s novella ‘Of Mice and Men’. The story portrays the travels and arising problems of two migrant workers who share an uncommon friendship for the time and environment in which the novella is set. Lennie Small is the character I will be exploring and I will start off by giving a detailed explanation of his physical appearance and behaviour. Second I will look at his and the other main character George’s relationship which will then be followed by Lennie’s relationships with other characters throughout the book. I will then go on to look at the foreshadowing In John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men,” he puts the focus on the survival of two cousins, George and Lennie. As time throughout the book passes, it is apparent that their relationship is tested. Although George has began to enjoy the company of fellow workers, towards the end of the book, he never strayed from who he believed was his first priority. The same can be said about Lennie. Therefore, it is to be believed that George and Lennie maintained a virtuous friendship. In the novela, Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck writes about George and Lennie’s “roller coaster” life. They ride across the country looking for jobs, but it never fails, when they do get a job, Lennie messes up and gets them both fired. For instance, a major part of the novela is based on a job they were currently taking on, but that was soon to come to an end. Lennie made a foolish mistake of killing a girl During the Great Depression, money is an issue, and jobs are extremely scarce. Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck’s fictional novel, portrays that hardened struggle to a new level. It begins with the two main characters, George Milton and Lennie Smalls, traversing through northern California’s Gabilan Mountain range, in order to get to a ranch where they can buck barley for fifty dollars a month. Immediately, the reader can notice the unlikeness between the two. Lennie, a burly, satisfied simple-minded individual and George, the determined, witty one. From this, George Milton is the most admirable character in literature, because he is ambitious, clever, and understanding. Steinbeck has written ''Of Mice And Men '' about an adventure of George and Lennie who are two men trying to accomplish their American dream's during the Great Depression during the 1930's where thousands of people lost their jobs in the Wall Street Crash making them feel hopeless. George and Lennie come to work at a ranch near Soledad in California. There they meet fellow ranch mates and a woman called Curley's Wife. In this essay I will focus on how Curley's Wife's personality and actions change throughout the novella and who she affect her and other bunkmates throughout the novella. In addition to that I would be showing how Steinbeck creates tension by using Curleys Wife.
